Ferozepur receives Rs 5 Cr from Niti Aayog under aspirational district programme - Dhiman
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman IAS said that Under the Aspirational District Programme, NITI Aayog has declared 112 districts of various states across India as aspirational districts. Ferozepur and Moga are aspirational districts in Punjab. Niti Aayog, Government of India conducts monthly Delta ranking of 112 districts of these different states on the basis of various indicators of 5 different sectors such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial and skill development, infrastructure. According to which Ferozepur district has achieved the best Delta ranking.

Chandigarh/Ferozepur October 16, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman IAS said that Under the Aspirational District Programme, NITI Aayog has declared 112 districts of various states across India as aspirational districts. Ferozepur and Moga are aspirational districts in Punjab. Niti Aayog, Government of India conducts monthly Delta ranking of 112 districts of these different states on the basis of various indicators of 5 different sectors such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial and skill development, infrastructure. According to which Ferozepur district has achieved the best Delta ranking.
DC Dhiman further said that district Ferozepur was ranked 94th on the basis of Delta ranking in the month of February 2023 and due to the good work of the district administration and their team, district Ferozepur has secured 7th position on the basis of Delta ranking in July 2023. Due to the hard work of District Administration Ferozepur has received a Rs. 3 crore for the good progress of agriculture and water resources in the month of June 2023 and Rs. 2 crore in July 2023 due to overall good progress. For this, Ferozepur district has received a total of Rs 5 crore from NITI Aayog, GoI.
He further said that this money would be spent for vocational skill development courses and for carrying out development works in various other areas to make the unemployed youth employable in the district. Constant efforts are being made to make Ferozepur district an inspirational district from an aspirational district, he added.
Expressing happiness over the release of 5 crores by NITI Aayog to the district under the Aspirational District Program, Cabinet Minister and Minister in-charge of the district Harbhajan Singh ETO said that this is the result of the hard work of all the departments of district under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner that Ferozepur has moved from 94th place to 7th place on the basis of Delta ranking.
