Fervour of 71th Republic Day at GNA University
71kg of kheer prepared
Jalandhar: GNA University celebrated 71th Republic day with full fervor by preparing 71kg of Kheer (Indian milk and rice pudding) in the University ground. To give it a patriotic feel, 71 chefs under the guidance of Chef Dr. Varinder Singh Rana exhibited 7.1 feet long tricolour Kheer.
A variety of ingredients were used to cook the three different coloured kheers as carrots for saffron kheer, rice for white kheer and peas for green color, which was distributed among the students of university.
The aspiring chefs and the NCC cadets of GNA University also hosted a Republic day parade. Patriotic enthusiasm in the students and faculty members warmed the cold morning during the Flag Hosting ceremony.
Pro-Chancellor, S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra in his address to the gathering expressed extreme pride about the rich culture of the Country and urged the students of the University to adopt honesty and dedication towards the nation.
Dr. Deepak Vohra, Ambassador of Govt. of India also witnessed the ceremony and motivated the gathering to respect the Nation as a mother and live with peace and harmony like a family.
Dr. Raj Kumar Mahajan, Registrar GNA University conveyed vote of thanks to the guest and gathering. Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dr. Sameer Verma, Mr. Kunal Bains, Dr. Disha Khanna. Dr Jagdeep Singh, Ms. Shweta Vaishist were also a part of the patriotic celebration.
