Ludhiana, August 25, 2024: The auspicious festival of Janmashtami was celebrated at Delhi World Public School Ludhiana with great zeal and fervour. Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. In certain Hindu texts such as the Gita Govinda, Krishna has been identified as supreme God and the source of all avatars. Krishna's birth is celebrated and observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in Shravana Masa (according to the amanta tradition) or Bhadrapada Masa (according to the purnimanta tradition).
The sight was mesmerising and spellbinding.Students of Grade Nur- XII along with the staff of the school decorated the whole school to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. Students presented an act which showed the details of the stormy night of Krishna Ji’s birth. There was a dance performance dedicated to Shri Krishna and his gopis.
Deepa Gupta, Principal of DWPS was overwhelmed looking at the devotion of the students and the staff. She along with the staff and students offered Prasad to Lord Krishna and took his blessings on this propitious day.
