FICO demanded speedy disposal of MSME cases from new DC of Ludhiana

Ludhiana, April 20, 2022: A delegation of FICO (Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization) under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO met the New Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana Surbhi Malik and discussed in detail the problems faced by the industrialists of the city and raised the following demands:

Speedy Disposal of the Delay Payment Council Cases:
It is requested that the delayed payment council cases must be disposed of at the earliest, as the MSME sector has not yet recovered from the losses incurred due to the lockdown and curfews to curb the COVID-19 spread, and recently the rise in the raw material prices have worsen the situation for MSMEs, the settlement of delayed payment cases may provide a sigh of relief to the industry. 

Link between Dhandari & Focal Point:
There is an alarming requirement of an under-pass/ bridge linking the Focal Point with Dhandari Industrial Area on both sides of the G.T. Road for smooth flow of industrial traffic both ways. It is notable that all ancillaries are in Focal Point, and anchor units like Hero Cycles, Avon Cycles, Ralson India, are in Dhandari, the poor condition of underpasses/ non availability of proper linkages badly hit the industry as the transportation of goods takes at least 4 times time extra than it should. The proper linkage will not only reduce the congestion on G.T. Road, but also save the precious time of the industry.

Collector Rates of Industrial Areas & Focal Points 
Referring to the current scenario, the property rates have fallen steeply, you are also requested to kindly review and reduce the applicable collectors’ rates of Industrial Areas & Focal Points, also it is requested to freeze the collector’s rates at least for the period of next five years. 

Infrastructure of Industrial Areas & Focal Points 
The Infrastructure of Industrial Areas & Focal Points is very bad shape, recently few Roads have been constructed but overall situation is bad, it is requested to start the work of pending roads as well before the rainy season, also the drainage systems must be cleaned to proper shape before the rains, so that the huge water loggings may be avoided.
