Ludhiana, June 15, 2023: The Punjab Pollution Control Board has sealed the boilers of all the textile dyers in Ludhiana, which has left the entire textile industry supply chain (including yarn, knitting, weaving, dyeing, garmenting, and retail sectors) disturbed due to the sudden cessation of operations.
The Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisations (FICO) opposed the sealing of the boilers of the textile dyers in Ludhiana.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, President FICO, and Sh. Rajeev Jain General Secretary FICO, said that these orders will have a long-term effect on the textile and hosiery industry of Ludhiana, and this will entail huge losses and hardships for the already ailing textile and hosiery industry and the large number of labourers and families dependent on those industries. They requested the Punjab Government to support and facilitate the dyers by granting the review of said order and permitting the industry to continue to operate. Rest assured of the industry’s commitment to close open concerns in an expeditious manner in the best interest of our environment.
