FICO strongly opposed hike in Electricity Prices

Ludhiana, June 9, 2019: Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization(FICO) has strongly opposed the hike in electricity prices.
In a statement here today, K.K.Seth, Chairman, FICO and Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO said that the state government has announced to provide electricity to the industry at the rate of Rs.5 per unit, which has not been implemented. Instead, the electricity prices have been revised and increased by the State Government. They pointed out that industry is already going through a crisis period, therefore, the government should facilitate the industrialists with power @ Rs.4.99/- per unit.
They said FICO urged the state government to roll back the decision to hike the prices of electricity in state.
Harjit Singh Sondh, Vice Chairman said that industry need uninterrupted power supply. Frequently power cuts interrupted the production as well as damage the machinery,
Baldev Singh Amar, Vice President, FICO said that electricity cannot be saved so government should focus on quality supplying of power and also increase the productivity.
