Final day of orientation program

Chandigarh, September 11, 2024: Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh hosted the final day of its orientation program, welcoming new students. Dr. Komal Sehgal, Coordinator, Centre for Public Health and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor coordinated the event.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Krishan K. Sony, Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in the light of, "The World Suicide Day" celebrated on September 10 ,highlighted the importance of ," Mental health in Adolescents and the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in public health", which play a pivotal role in prevention of mental health illnesses. He further enlightened the participants, by encouraging the idea of Acknowledging the changes, understanding the importance of self-esteem and role of social participation in prevention, and resolving the issues by providing knowledge about life style / physical and mental health as a whole.
