Rohit, martyred during a petroleum spill on the China border, was cremated with full state honors in Lanj Khas. The funeral witnessed a massive gathering, with citizens and youth joining together to bid their last farewell to the martyr, echoing the resonant chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."
Sister Rita Devi, in a solemn moment, lit the funeral pyre of her brother, as a symbol of the community's collective grief. The cremation ceremony was attended by dignitaries including ADC Kangra Rohit Jassal, Tehsildar Kangra Mohit Ratan, and Panchayat head Rekha Devi. The large turnout reflected the community's unity and respect for the sacrifice made by Rohit in service to the nation.
The tragic incident occurred during a petroleum exploration mission on the China border in the Army's artillery battalion in Arunachal Pradesh. Rohit, part of a patrolling unit, slipped on a glacier, tragically falling down a trench from the glacier hill on Monday. The news of his martyrdom was conveyed to Rohit's maternal uncle by an Army officer. Rohit, leaves behind a grieving community and family who will forever remember his dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty.
