Finance Minister Harpal Cheema hands over appointment letters to 13 Section Officers

Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister of Punjab Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday handed over appointment letters to 13 Section Officers, who have recently cleared the SAS examination, here at ‘Vit te Yojna Bhawan’ during a brief but impressive function.

Chandigarh: Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister of Punjab Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday handed over appointment letters to 13 Section Officers, who have recently cleared the SAS examination, here at ‘Vit te Yojna Bhawan’ during a brief but impressive function.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government’s mission of providing maximum employment opportunities to the youth, the recruitment process of appointing another 52 candidates of Section Officers by Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and 53 candidates of Assistant Treasurer by the Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab is almost complete, and the appointment letters will be handed over to these candidates soon.

Reiterating the Punjab government's commitment towards sound financial management and complete monitoring of expenditure of government-run welfare schemes, the Finance Minister said that these appointments would help in bringing more transparency in the functioning besides preventing the leakage of funds. He said that with these appointments the financial management of the state will be strengthened, and at the same time, better services can be provided to the employees and pensioners of the state.

Cheema congratulated the newly appointed Section Officers and encouraged them to do their job with full honesty and dedication.  Meanwhile, Principal Secretary Finance Ajoy Kumar Sinha encouraged them to keep on updating their skill and qualification to cope with the emerging challenges.

Additional Director (Treasury and Accounts) Simarjit Kaur and Joint Secretary (Planning) Rakesh Kumar were also present on this occasion.
