A financial awareness session was organized in Government Home Science College to make students financially literate.
Chandigarh, October 23, 2024: A financial awareness session was organized in Government Home Science College to make students financially literate. It was organized by IEP Cell of the college in collaboration with Canara bank. about various saving schemes existing in Canara Bank with benefit of free Coursera courses to all account holders. The session was led by Chief Manger of Canara Bank and other senior officials. The session, which focused on improving financial literacy among students along with benefit of free Coursera Courses to student account holders, saw an enthusiastic participation of more than 100 students.
Monika introduced Canara Aspire, a comprehensive financial literacy program designed to equip individuals with better financial management skills. She outlined several attractive flexibility for students and young professionals. A key highlight was the provision of one free Coursera certificate course to customers maintaining a Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) of Rs. 5,000. An additional free course would be offered to customers maintaining a QAB above Rs. 25,000 and exclusive offers on platforms like Amazon, Swiggy One, BookMyShow, and Gaana, along with airport lounge access for its cardholders.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, emphasized the importance of financial literacy in shaping the financial well-being of students and acknowledged how initiatives like Canara Aspire offer crucial support in helping students manage their finances effectively as they step into the professional world.
