Mumbai, September 22, 2015: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off 101 e-Rickshaws and 501 Cycle Rickshaws funded by IDBI Bank as micro enterprise loan, in association with Bhartiya Micro Credit (BMC), a Business Correspondent of the Bank, in Varanasi on September 18. The function was graced by Shri Ram Naik, Governor of UP and Shri Balram Yadav, Cabinet Minister, Government of UP. Shri Kishor Kharat, MD & CEO of the Bank was present during the occasion. PM also handed over IDBI Rupay Card to a few beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). Some of the account holders are also covered under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY).
The function was also attended by Shri B. K. Batra, Deputy Managing Director and Shri S K V Srinivasan, Executive Director – Retail Banking.
