Fintech will help Maharashtra to be a trillion dollar economy: Devendra Fadnavis
Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in his address to the Global Fintech Fest today said, “Maharashtra is the fintech and startup capital of India. Fintech will drive our economy and contribute to its growth even more in the days to come.”

MAHARASHTRA WAS THE FIRST STATE TO LAUNCH A FINTECH POLICY
Talking about the fintech innovations in Maharashtra Fadnavis added, “Maharashtra was the first state to launch a fintech policy. Under this policy, we developed the entire ecosystem with smart centres, fintech registry, fintech API sandbox, 100 crore fund which has resulted in over 500 companies accessing this set-up, and this fund has attracted investments of nearly 1000 crores and indirect investments of over 9000 crores. Today, this policy is widely accepted by the industry, and we are open to amending it to attract more fintech start-ups. Fintech will help us to be a trillion dollar economy.”
Organised and presented by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Reserve Bank of India, International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), National Payments Council of India, the Payments Council of India (PCI) and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC), the Global Fintech Fest aims to demonstrate India's fintech ecosystem to the world, creating solutions for 6 billion global consumers and driving financial inclusion adoption for the 1.4 billion unbanked adults at an even higher pace. Pre-event festivities began virtually on September 19, 2022. This is the third edition of the Global Fintech Fest, and the first one where domain experts are participating from across the globe in-person and virtually.
