A comprehensive fire drill and fire safety demonstration and lecture of newly installed fire system was conducted at Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with UT Chandigarh Fire Department, with support of Shri Vikram Singh, Chief Security Officer, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 13.5.2024. Led by Principal Dr. Deepak Kumar Gupta of the Dental Institute, the event witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and staff members, underscoring their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment within the institute premises.

Chandigarh, May 13, 2024: A comprehensive fire drill and fire safety demonstration and lecture of newly installed fire system was conducted at Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with UT Chandigarh Fire Department, with support of Shri Vikram Singh, Chief Security Officer, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 13.5.2024. Led by Principal Dr. Deepak Kumar Gupta of the Dental Institute, the event witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and staff members, underscoring their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment within the institute premises.
The fire drill simulated a real-life emergency situation, providing participants with practical experience in responding to fire incidents promptly and effectively. Under the guidance of trained professionals from the UT Chandigarh Fire Department, attendees learnt the importance of swift evacuation procedures, fire extinguisher usage, and emergency communication protocols.
In addition to the practical drill, the event featured a comprehensive fire safety demonstration, where Sh. Amarjit Singh and Shri Anil Kamboj from the Fire Department showcased various fire safety equipment and techniques, explained type of Fire and how to react and control the fire in case of emergency. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with firefighters, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of fire prevention and mitigation strategies. Further, water hydrant system installed in the building was also tested.
Principal Dr. Deepak Kumar Gupta expressed his gratitude to the UT Chandigarh Fire Department for their proactive approach to fire safety education and collaboration in organizing the event. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering a culture of safety and preparedness within educational institutions.
