First Convocation Ceremony to confer graduate degrees
Panjab University's Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital today organised its First Convocation Ceremony to confer graduate degrees to 2006-2018 batch students at Law Auditorium. The occasion marked a significant milestone for the institute as several graduating batches received recognition for their academic accomplishments.
Chandigarh, December 23, 2024: Panjab University's Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital today organised its First Convocation Ceremony to confer graduate degrees to 2006-2018 batch students at Law Auditorium. The occasion marked a significant milestone for the institute as several graduating batches received recognition for their academic accomplishments.
More than 150 Graduates from several batches (2006-2018) including the first batch were conferred their degrees by the dignitaries on the dais.
Delivering the Convocation Address, the Founder Director-Principal, Dr K Gauba expressed immense pleasure and happiness at seeing its alumni succeed. He talked about the institute's modest beginnings, how it developed into a Center of Excellence, and its unwavering dedication to produce qualified dental practitioners.
In his convocation address, PU Registrar Prof Y P Verma commended the graduates and underlined their duty as healthcare professionals to serve the society with commitment, morality, and creativity. He praised the institute for its outstanding contributions to patient care and dentistry education.
Earlier, the event commenced with a warm welcome address by Principal cum Professor Dr Deepak Gupta of the institute. He thanked Founder Director-Principal Dr K Gauba and the PU officials at the helm of PU adminstartion for providing a platform for the institute to reach its current heights. He congratulated all the students who were present in the ceremony for receiving their degrees.
While appreciating the accomplishments of the students, PU Controller of Examinations Dr Jagat Bhushan, stressed on the need to upgrade the skills to keep pace with the advancements in the profession.
Dr Shefali Singla delievered the vote of Thanks. The national anthem concluded the ceremony where the spirit of pride, solidarity and joy were palpable among the faculty, alumni and their families. As alumni from various batches who have helped the institute's growth and reputation over the years came back to celebrate their achievements, the ceremony was an emotional and proud occasion.

Panjab University, Chandigarh has notified that the Offices/Institutions/Regional Centres/Rural Centre/Constituent Colleges /Affiliated Colleges of Panjab University located in the State of Punjab will remain closed on Friday, December 27, 2024 on account of "Shaheedi Sabha, Shri Fatehgarh Sahib". All meetings and examinations will be held as per schedule announced earlier.
