First D.Litt In music In GNDU, Amritsar

Jalandhar, April 23, 2015: Dr Amita Mishra, Head, Department of Music Vocal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar did her D.Litt and became the first Professor in Music in the College as well as in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar to do so.  She did her D.Litt on Interaction between Music and Spiritualism. Her achievement is all the more remarkable as she pursued her education after marriage and did her B.A., M.A., M. Phil., Ph.D. and now D.Litt. post marriage.  She has a reference book on “Devotion and Music” as well as more than 40 research papers published in National and International Journals to her credit.   Dr. Amita Mishra credits her success to the support and guidance of her husband Dr. Arun Mishra who is an established name in the field of Music, and Dr. Sucharita, Principal, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar to whom she is indebted for her encouragement and cooperation. Dr. Sucharita congratulated and praised Dr. Amita Mishra for her creditable achievement and her dedication to research as well as academics.
