Ludhiana, July 23, 2014: Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, on July 21, embarked a yet another journey on the path of professional growth and leadership by arranging the first meeting of IPDA, India Chapter. Constituted in 1968, International Professional Development Association is both a truly U.K. wide and fully international organisation which is committed to the cause of supporting, developing and promoting good professional development practices and training. The world renowned organisation has four chapters so far, all in United Kindgom at England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales respectively. The IPDA, has today laid the foundation of its fifth chapter i.e. IPDA India Chapter at Partap College of Education, Ludhiana,  as its Head Quarters.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal of Partap College of Education and Dr. Ramesh Sandhu, Principal C.R. College of Education, Hisar (Haryana). The plan of action started with acquainting all the members with the constitution, objectives and targets of IPDA, (U.K.).  After this the election of various office bearers was done unanimously.  Dr. Balwant Singh was elected as the Chairperson of ipda, India Chapter, while Dr. Ramesh Sandhu was designated as vice-chairperson.  Manpreet Kaur, Monica and Sona Thakur were elected as Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
To prepare the academic plan for its programmes, a seven membered committee was also constituted.  Mandeep Bhullar, Manjeet Kaur, Anjali Arora, Dr. Rakesh Sandhu, Dr. Sangeeta Sood, Dr. Rajni Bala and Vijay together formed this action plan committee.
The newly elected secretary of IPDA, India Chapter, Manpreet Kaur, intimated all its members with the theme, date and venue of upcoming International Conference organised by IPDA, (U.K.). She told everybody that theme of the conference will be ‘Rethinking models of professional learning’ and it will be held on November 28 and 29 this year at Conference Centre, Aston University, Birmingham.
