First meeting of high-level committee held online at PU

Chandigarh: The first meeting of high level committee of experts headed by Prof. R.P. Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda to examine various facets of the existing governance structure of Panjab University and to recommend  the way forward was held today in online mode with all the members present except Prof. Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director, (IIM) Amritsar.

The committee held a pre-dominant opinion to go for governance reforms by having a lean and efficient governance structure based on the best governance practices within the State and outside. Further, the committee has decided to seek inputs from all stakeholders of Panjab University for which a designated portal will be made functional for a period of 7 days.

Chauhan, Chairman, Executive Committee, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC]- Nominee of Chairman, UGC Member, Dr.Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar- Nominee of the Chief Minister, Punjab, Shri S. Paramjit Singh, DPI (Colleges), Government of Punjab, Shri Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director (Higher Education) Chandigarh Administration, Shri Satya Pal rain, Additional Solicitor General of India- Nominee of the Chancellor, Panjab University and Sh. Vikram Nayyar, Registrar, PU, Member Secretary.
