First National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Skill Centre started in Himachal
National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Skill Centre has been started at Dr. R.P.Govt. Medical College, Tanda today by the Principal of the institution Dr.Bhanu Awasthi. Dr Awasthi said, “Dr RPGMC is the only Medical college in HP to have this centre.
Dharamsala, July 4, 2023: National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Skill Centre has been started at Dr. R.P.Govt. Medical College, Tanda today by the Principal of the institution Dr.Bhanu Awasthi. Dr Awasthi said, “Dr RPGMC is the only Medical college in HP to have this centre. GOI has selected Dr RPGMC,Tanda for the First Batch of TOT (Training of Trainers) cum provider course for faculty which is starting from 4 th July till 8 th July 2023 in this region which is an honor for the institute and state. In this session 27 Faculty members from 6 Medical College they are 4 from AIIMS Bathinda, 4 from Agra, 5 from BJ Pune, 4 from Amritsar 4 from Patiala and 6 from RPGMC Tanda are participating in this First Batch of TOT (Training of Trainers).”
Dr BHanu further said that this skill center will Train Doctors and Paramedics in Life Saving Skills by doing hand on practice on mannequins. All front line doctors have to be trained in various emergencies by doing practice as these skills are not learned in Theory.
