First randomization of counting manpower held
The first randomization of counting staff was conducted on Wednesday in the supervision of District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney.
Ludhiana, May 15, 2024: The first randomization of counting staff was conducted on Wednesday in the supervision of District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney.
Divulging more details, the District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that the randomization of 840 counting staff had been done to complete the work of counting smoothly. She said that one counting hall had been set up for each of 14 assembly constituencies and each hall will have 14 counting tables.
Sawhney said that the aim of randomization was to deploy staff for the counting of votes. She said that in each counting hall, 14 counting tables would be set up on June 4 and supervisors, counting assistants and micro observers would be deployed for smooth completion of the counting exercise.
Sawhney said that separate staff for Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) and counting of postal ballots would be deployed on that day. A counting party consists of a counting supervisor, counting assistant and a micro observer.
The District Election Officer further informed that the first rehearsal for training the counting staff would be held in the coming days. She said that the district administration was committed to smoothly conducting the counting exercise.
