Five buses of private transport operators impounded by transport department
Ferozepur, October 8, 2021: Continuing his tirade against illegal plying of buses, Transport Minister Raja Warring today impounded five more buses belonging to private transport operators which were running without tax in this district.
While giving details, Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) Pardeep Singh Dhillon said that the flying squad of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Ferozepur today raided the Cantonment bus stand and checked the documents of the private bus operators. “During the checking of the documents, five buses belonging to private transport operators were identified whose taxes were not paid following which these buses were impounded by the department.
Notably, Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has launched a drive against the private bus operators. On Wednesday, the Punjab Transport Department had impounded 15 private buses, citing non-deposit of special road tax and permit-related irregularities from Faridkot, Bathinda, Amritsar and Ludhiana.
