Five-day Faculty Development Program on "Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics" started at IKG PTU
A five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) started on virual mode at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) on Monday. Its topic was "Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics".
Jalandhar/Kapurthala, January 20, 2025: A five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) started on virual mode at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) on Monday. Its topic was "Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics". This FDP will continue till 24 January 2025. This event has been sponsored under the Information Security Education and Awareness Program of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. This event is being organized jointly by the IKGPTU's Department of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Center for Executive Education (CEE).
The inaugural session of the FDP was addressed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr.) Susheel Mittal as Chief Guest. He described information security education as very important in the current context. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal said that as much as it is important for the faculty to know this subject themselves, it is even more important to teach it to the students on regular basis. He gave a message to all the participants to move forward by understanding the subject deeply.
University Registrar and CEE Head Dr. S.K. Misra addressed this session as special guest. He congratulated the CSE Department of the University for selecting the subject. Dr. Misra also thanked the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for sponsoring this subject. He said that the reality of the subject is related to everyone's life every day, because in the era of IT revolution, keeping information safe is the most important issue. Dr. Misra congratulated the organizing committee.
Dr. Monica Sachdeva, Professor and Director IKGPTU Mohali Campus and Dr. Rajiv Bedi, Associate Professor & Head, CSE Department IKGPTU also addressed the FDP as coordinators. The various sessions of the first day were conducted as moderators by co-coordinator Dr. Raman Kumar, Dr. Dinesh Gupta, both assistant professors from the CSE department IKGPTU. Deputy Registrar Rajneesh Sharma from CEE, Programmer Deepak Sidana from the University's IT department supported the inaugural session.
