PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar holds Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Project and Grants’.
Jalandhar, November 17, 2023: Internal Quality Assurance Cell of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar in collaboration with Research Committee organised a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme entitled ‘Research Project and Grants’.
The speaker of the programme was Dr Anant Ram, Advisor, Higher Education and Research Promotion, New Delhi. He has been associated with more than fifty universities and a hundred colleges as an Advisor for promotion of Research and Innovation. He is currently serving as the Officer on Special Duty to the Vice-Chancellor, Capital University, Koderma, Jharkhand. The ulterior motive of the FDP was to enhance research grant acquisition skills. It brought together a diverse group of faculty members eager to excel in the world of research funding. The discussion empowered participants to navigate the complex landscape of research grants in their respective academic arenas through novelty and innovation. Various types of grants, aspects of grant proposal development, budgeting, approval process and project management were elaborately discussed. The aim was not simply to encourage research but also to foster a spirit of collaboration transcending disciplinary boundaries, igniting conversations and sparking ideas for interdisciplinary research projects. Through his presentation he enumerated scores of funding agencies in Social Sciences, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Commerce, Marketing and other disciplines that provide grants for Seminars, Conferences and Research Projects. He also laid chief emphasis on National Government Schemes where women educators can avail grants and fellowships.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar appreciated the efforts of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Research Committee for the successful conduct of the session. The Principal maintained that bearing in mind the paradigmatic shift in the Education System, organising such sessions is imperative to engender research culture among faculty members and the students.
