Five members of robbers gang nabbed by police 

Ferozepur: The sleuths belonging to Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) have nabbed five members of a robber gang. While giving details, Bhagirath Singh Meena, SSP said that following the inputs, the CIA sleuths laid a trap to nab the accused while they were planning for a robbery near the canal situated on Village Guddardandi- Guruharsahai link road. 

The SSP said that five members of the gang identified as Gurwinder Singh (25), Amarjit Singh (21), Amarjit Singh (20), Yuvraj Singh (25) and Karamjit Singh (22) were arrested by the police. “The other accused identified as Jatinder Singh, Gabbar, Khadku, Sandeep alias Billa, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi and Prince Sahota managed to dodge the police and fled from the spot. The police recovered two motorbikes, two sharp edged weapons and three rods which they use for robbing the innocent people”, said SSP Meena. 

A case under sections 399, 402 IPC was registered against the accused at Lakho ke Behram police station (FIR No. 59 Dated 26.06.2021). “A hunt has been launched to nab the other accused and very soon they will be nabbed by the police”, said SSP. 

“During the preliminary investigation, the accused admitted to rob people in various incidents of robbery and theft which took place in the recent times. The list of their robberies and snatching includes robbery of Rs. 2.30 Lakh at Punjab National Bank Branch of Village Pojo ke , snatching of Rs. 80,000/- and one mobile and tab from a Finance company employee at Village Khaire ke Uthar in Guruharsahai, robbery of Rs. 65000/- at Village Jiwan Arai in Guruharsahai, snatching of Rs. 87797/- from a finance company employee at Village Basti Bohdiya, robbery of Rs. 1,53,000/- from a petrol pump at Village Guddar Dandi, snatching of Rs. 35703/- from a finance company employee at Village Sham Singh Wala in Lakho ke Behram area and snatching of Rs. 25000/- and Rs. 3500/- from the two petrol pumps situated in the city area. The accused were wanted in all these cases registered at various police stations including Mamdot, Guruharsahai, Lakho ke Behram and Ferozepur city area”, SSP further added.
