Dharamshala, April 2, 2019: Five model polling booths will be set up in each assembly constituency in view of Lok Sabha Elections-2019, so that people can be motivated for maximum voting. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar while presiding over the meeting with the Heads of all the departments regarding the management of polling stations and compliance of Model Code of Conduct for these elections.
He said that necessary guidelines have been given to the concerned departments to provide electricity, drinking water, ramps etc. in polling booths as per guidelines of Election Commission . He further said that Education Department and Panchayati Raj Department officials Has been directed to provide the keys of the polling booth by 11 o'clock on May 17 to the polling officers so that the polling parties can start their work on the polling booth well in time. The polling in HP shall be conducted on May 19 for all the four parliamentary seats. He said that in order to ensure free and fair polling, the Election Commission of India has launched Mobile App C Vigil, through this app a Common Man will be able to report the violation of the Model Code of Conduct/ expenditure violence with live photo/video with auto location data. He directed the officials that grievances received through C Vigil app should be delt in with in hundred minutes.
For the parliamentary election polling scheduled for May 19 in Himachal Pradesh, a total of 7723 polling stations have been set up. In Kangra parliamentary constituency 1874 polling stations have been set up, 2079 polling stations have been set up in Mandi parliamentary constituency, 1764 polling stations have been set up in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and 2006 polling stations have been set up in Simla parliamentary constituency.
