Dharamsala, July 20, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has instructed municipal bodies in Kangra district to prioritize the development of parking spaces, footpaths, and public toilets to enhance convenience for residents and visitors.
During a review meeting held in Dharamshala on Saturday, Bairwa emphasized the need for immediate action against illegal constructions and urged the preparation of plans to increase municipal revenue for sustainable development.
Bairwa highlighted the importance of a comprehensive action plan for beautifying and maintaining cleanliness in municipal areas. He directed officials to prioritize solid waste management, stating that necessary funds have been allocated to all municipal bodies for this purpose. He also stressed the urgency of finalizing sites for solid waste plants in municipalities that have not yet done so.
The Deputy Commissioner urged municipal officials to update the status of pending development projects to facilitate thorough reviews. He also called for prompt measures to collect outstanding house taxes.
The review meeting was attended by ADC Saurabh Jassal, Commissioner of MC Dharamshala Zafar Iqbal, Commissioner of Palampur MC Ashish Sharma, and officials from municipal bodies in Kangra, Jawalamukhi, Dehra, Baijnath, Nagarota, Shahpur, Nurpur, and Jawali.
