Food licence or registration must for liquor vends
With the liquor has been brought under the ambit of Food and Safety Standards Act, 2011, each liquor vend has to obtain mandatory licence or registration from the Food Safety wing of health department in the district.
Nawanshahr, May 2, 2022: With the liquor has been brought under the ambit of Food and Safety Standards Act, 2011, each liquor vend has to obtain mandatory licence or registration from the Food Safety wing of health department in the district.
Divulging more details, Assistant Commissioner Food Manoj Khosla said that all liquor vends with an annual turnover of above Rs 12 lakh need a licence while those having annual sale below Rs 12 lakh have to get registered with the food safety wing of the health department.
He said that food safety wing has also coordinated with excise and taxation department and requested to make the operators of the liquor vends aware about the mandatory licence and registration.
He said that under the Food Safety Act, the health department can check for adulteration in liquor also and would carry out sampling in the coming days. Khosla told that the health department would take action against the defaulters in the future under Food Safety Act.
