DFSC assured that the administration is committed to ensuring procure every single grain of the farmers
Ludhiana:
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, the teams of the food supply department led by District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) Sukhwinder Singh Gill continued their field visits to accelerate the pace of lifting of the procured stock.
The DFSC along with his team met the farmers, labourers, commission agents, and staff of the procurement agencies and reviewed the status of lifting in Mullanpur and Jagraon grain markets.
The farmers and commission agents opined that the wheat glut in the market was the result of the persistent harvesting of the crop by farmers. They also demanded to expedite the pace of lifting following which DFSC asked contractors to look into the matter and clear the stock without fail from the grain markets.
DFSC assured them that the administration was committed to ensuring procure every single grain of the farmers and any kind of laxity on the part of officials is unwarranted and undesirable.
Prominent among present occasion included DFSO Nirpaksh Mattu, AFSO Jagpal Singh, Inspectors Jaswinder Singh Pandher, Satwinder Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Harjeet Singh, Jaspal Singh, and others.
