Foot over-bridge to be constructed on NH at Village Kotla Shamaspur for benefit of students
Samrala (Ludhiana), September 18, 2019: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials today assured Samrala MLA Amrik Singh Dhillon that for the benefit of students, a Foot Over Bridge would be constructed opposite the school at village Kotla Shamaspur, and a subway for heavy vehicles would be constructed under the bridge at village Behlolpur so that the flow of traffic is not disrupted. It is pertinent to mention that Samrala MLA Amrik Singh Dhillon and Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today held a meeting with the representatives of NHAI at Samrala and raised several issues. During the meeting, Amrik Singh Dhillon stated that a school is constructed near the road at village Kotla Shamaspur, and the students find it very difficult to cross the road. It was then decided that a foot over bridge for the benefit of students would be constructed on the road. Similarly, due to high inflow of heavy vehicles at village Behlolpur, a special way would be provided. The NHAI officials informed that a subway under the bridge would be constructed there, that would have a height of 4.5 metres, so that the heavy vehicles can pass easily without disrupting the traffic on road. Mr Dhillon and Mr Agrawal thanked the NHAI officials and stated that both these projects would provide much needed relief to area residents as well as motorists. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Samrala SDM Geetika Singh, Ludhiana (West) SDM Amrinder Singh Malhi, Ludhiana (East) SDM Amarjit Singh Bains, besides several others.
