Ludhiana, July 6, 2022: To ensure no private school violates the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions (Amendment) Act, 2019 and to redress complaints of parents and students with respect to fee hike, books and transportation charges, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik on Wednesday has constituted a district level regulatory body under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Khanna) Amarjit Bains. 

Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner said that there are seven members in the body comprising Chairman ADC Khanna, Member Secretary District Education Officer (Secondary)  and five members Assistant Commissioner (Grievances), District Education Officer (Elementary), Retired DEO Sawaranjit Kaur, Retired Principal Anoop Kumar Passi, and Superintendent Grade-I. She said that the committee was directed to implement the provisions of this Act in letter and spirit so as to ensure that parents do not face any kind of problem with respect to fee hike by unaided schools. 

Pointing out further, Committee Chairman cum ADC (Khanna) Amarjit Bains said that no stone would be left unturned to implement the provisions of Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions (Amendment) Bill in the district.  He further stated that Be it fee hike, sale of books or uniform or transportation charges or any other issue, the parents must approach us and report their complaints against the school adding the committee will ensure that no complaint would go unresolved.

He also appealed to all private schools to manage their affairs as per the norms fixed by the state government through this Act. He also said that it will be ensured that all schools in the district follow the regulations passed under this Act as strict action would be initiated In case of any violation reported.
