For reviving pristine glory of Panchayati Raj Institutions, gram sabhas being organised in District Ludhiana
ADC (Rural Development) urges panchayats to hold sessions between June 15 and 26 in their respective villages
Ludhiana, June 16, 2022: In a bid to revive the pristine glory of Pamchayti Raj Institutions, the sessions of Gram Sabha have been started in the district following the appeal made by Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal.
Such sessions are being organised in various villages of the district where villagers gather together and discuss various issued pertaining to overall development of their villages. Notably, the minister earlier this week in a event here at Punjab Agricultural University had asked the Panchayats to hold sessions of gram sabha between June 16 and 26 so that the tradition of holding gram sabha could be revived in the state.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Amit Kumar Panchal called upon the Panchayats of Ludhiana District to accord top priority to this mammoth task so that no village was left without the conduct of this crucial meeting. He reiterated the state government's commitment to restoring the rich legacy of panchayati Raj Institutions.
