Formal inauguration of 2-day “7th National Biennial Conference (GISICON-2019)
Ludhiana, November 1, 2019: Two-day “7th National Biennial Conference (GISICON-2019)” which started on 31st October in Auditorium of DMC College Campus was formally inaugurated today/ The inaugural ceremony was done by Dr VM Katoch (Former Secretary, Department of Health Research) in the presence of other dignitaries including Dr YK Chawla (Ex-Director, PGIMER Chandigarh), Dr Ajay Kumar (President, Indian Society of Gastroenterology) and Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta. Also present on the occasion were Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice Principal Dr GS Wander, Medical Supdts Dr Ashwini Chaudhary and Dr Sandeep Sharma. In his address, Secretary Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the efforts of Departments of Microbiology and Gastroenterology in organizing the conference and enriching the delegates with latest information on GI Diseases through highly interactive sessions. Organizing Chairperson-Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina (Dean Academics and Professor & Head of Gastroenterology) extended warm welcome to the dignitaries, distinguished guest speakers and participating delegates. In his address, Dr Chhina said that the conference GISICON 2019 organized by Departments of Microbiology and Gastroenterology will be very helpful for the participating delegates to know about different aspects of gastrointestinal diseases and its treatment. The conference is based on the theme ‘Gastrointenstinal Health for Everyone, Everywhere’. In his message, Dr Chhina says that good Gastrointenstinal Health and Digestive Wellness is an important indication of maintaining good health. Organizing Secretary-Dr Deepinder Chhina(Professor & Head of Microbiology) said that the scientific lectures, held during the conference, provided a deep insight into various aspects of gastrointestinal diseases and offering a wide range of highly interactive sessions with pioneers in the field of Microbiology, Gastroenterology and Medicine.
