Talwandi Sabo, January 15, 2014: Dr. Gursharan Singh  Dean, Post Graduate Studies from PAU, while addressing the faculty of agriculture in Guru Kashi University said that the newly emerging  institutions should develop graduates with balanced personality, apart from imparting latest knowledge and skills in various fields, there is need to develop social skills, human values and empathy among the youth. The teachers should work as role models & must have positive attitudes towards the pupils & efforts should be made to bring about desirable changes in overall behaviors

Dr. Gursharn Singh further added that for the development of rural area, the regional educational institutions can play a pivotal role in imparting quality education which can minimise the gap between the rural & urban leads to formation of balanced society.

Dr. Surjeet Singh Gill, former director extension education PAU said that education has only the beginning not an ending, aims at holistic development of an individual. Education helps transformation of information in to knowledge and teacher plays a catalytic role in this transformation. Information may be got through books, internet & via other sources but knowledge is perceived only with the involvement of a teacher, guide or mentor.  

Dr. Surjeet further added that education is much more than class room teaching or curricula delivery. It also involves the co-curricular activities like sports & cultural events. Means curricular and co-curricular activities provide smoothness in the attainment of knowledge and the final product of education is quality Human Resource Development.

Dr. N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Director (Planning & Development), Sh.
