Former BJP Himachal Cell President joins Congress
Over sixty leaders from HP took charge of MC election for Congress
Chandigarh, December 18, 2021: Under the stewardship of Rajinder Rana, MLA Himachal Pradesh and coordinator MC elections 2021, Himachal cell president of BJP Varinder Guleria along with dozens of members joined congress party in the presence of Pawan Kumar Bansal, Treasurer AICC, Pawan Khera, national Spokesperson INC, Subhash Chawla, President CTCC and Abhishek Dutt. Varinder Guleria is also Vice President of Chandigarh Chapter of Vishav hindu Prishad and President of Himachal Ekta Welfare Society and Progressive Trader Welfare Association.
A team of over sixty leaders from Himachal Congress including MLAs, Ex-MLAs and organizations members on Friday reached Chandigarh and took charge of election in 35 wards for Congress Candidates as coordinators.
The contest has grown interesting as the congress is wooing the voters from Himachal Pradesh, residing in Chandigarh and Rajinder Rana has a hold over more than 15 percent of Himachalis staying there. Sh. Rana said that after the meeting, the teams were sent to different sectors of Chandigarh to canvass for congress candidates in fray.
Continuing, he said that the Himachalis as well the localities were giving maximum support to the congress candidates and has posed a challenge for the BJP candidates, whose morale seems to be down enough. It can be judged from their body language that the BJP candidates in fray have no issues of public interest, to take benefit of and to place before the people. The Congress team has wisely picked up the local issues, besides that of inflation in all spheres. The party was committed to redress the grievances of the people, who are fed up of false promises of the BJP,said Sh. Rana .
It is awful that the ‘Clean City’ has been ranked at 66th position in a Nation-wide survey during the BJP regime. Nothing has been done to protect the City Beautiful, from pollution, and save its pristine glory. The people have started questioning that the ‘City Beautiful,’ which earlier bagged 3rd ranking in Cleanliness drive, how come has slumped to 66th ranking ? Who is responsible for all this? Similarly, the privatization of the Chandigarh Electricity Department is not going down the throat of the people. How a party can privatize the Government departments when they are running in profit, questioned Rana.
That is the very reason the people are joining hands with the congress, he said. The people were vowed to root-out the BJP for their false promises, and has miserably failed in their commitments towards the society. The BJP candidates have failed to convince the people on the issues of development and lopsided promises they made. The unemployment has touched uneven figures, the fuel prices, the LPG rates, the everyday needs commodities all have touched peak when it comes to prices, forcing people to live hand and mouth.
Rana said that the people have become aware that they will not fall prey to the false promises of the BJP and as similar to the MC, elections in Himachal Pradesh where maximum seats were won by the Congress, the same fate is awaiting the BJP candidates in Chandigarh MC elections, as is being stated by BJP friends.
