Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar quarantined himself
Says he could be contacted on phone during this quarantined period
Dharamshala: The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shanta Kumar has quarantined himself for 14 days as a precautionary measure. In a statement, he said, “Yesterday BJP President Suresh Kashyap came to meet me and later he also met Ex-CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, Earlier, Suresh Kashyap met Energy Minister Sukh Ram in Shimla. Yesterday evening Energy Minister Sukhram has reported corona positive along with his family.” Shanta said that he could be contacted on phone during this quarantined period, if required. Himachal Pradesh minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.
On Thursday in a facebook post, the MPP (multi-purpose projects) and power minister Sukh Ram stated that his personal assistant Sonu Chaudhary had tested COVID-19 positive. So, he got himself tested and his report is positive, he added. The legislator from Sirmaur’s Paonta Sahib requested those who came in contact with him recently to get themselves quarantined and tested for COVID-19. Sukh Ram Chaudhary was inducted in the state cabinet along with two other MLAs on July 30
Shanta Kumar has appealed to all the leaders that in the time of this corona crisis there is a need to take not only 100 but 200 percent preclusion. He said that leaders are breaking the rules by taking out the procession etc, while the crisis of corona is increasing every day.
“I am worried that all the leaders are talking about preclusions about Corona in their speeches, but they are completely negligent in their behaviour. This carelessness can become very dangerous for them,” said Shanta.
He has also requested the Chief Minister Mr Jairam Thakur to minimise his tours during this corona pandemic and strictly follow the restrictions wherever tours are necessary. He said that everyone must remember that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his Ram Mandir foundation ceremony speech, had also urged all to be extra careful during the Corona Pandemic.
