Rohtak, March 2, 2025: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has spoken to SP regarding the Himani murder case. He has said that the police and the government should ensure speedy justice for the victim's family.
The former Chief Minister also spoke to the victim’s family and offered his condolences, saying that he stood with the family in their hour of grief. He said he and the entire Congress party will fight for justice for the victim.
“The culprit should be brought to the clutches of law as soon as possible and he should get the harshest punishment. The Congress party stands with Himani's family in this hour of grief,” the former Chief Minister said.
Talking to journalists, Hooda said increasing crime in Haryana, especially crimes against women, remains a matter of serious concern. “After the murder of Congress worker Himani, serious questions are being raised once again on the law and order of the state. A few days ago, a BSP leader was also murdered in Narayangarh, the hometown of the Chief Minister,” he said. Earlier, INLD leader in Bahadurgarh and JJP leader in Hansi were murdered. More than half a dozen MLAs in the state have become victims of extortion incidents. The law and order situation has deteriorated to such an extent that even BJP leaders and policemen are not safe. “This is the reason why Haryana has been described as the most unsafe state in the country in the Social Progress Index (SPI) report of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council. The NCRB report screams out loud that within a year in 2022, 1020 murders took place in the state, that is, 3 murders every day. During 2022 itself, 1786 rape incidents took place in Haryana, that is, 4-5 rapes took place every day,” the former CM pointed out.
Hooda said that the police and the government should take exemplary action in the Himani murder case so that all those who have the mentality of committing crimes against women get a strong message.
