Dharamshala, August 23, 2024: Former Chief Minister and Union Minister Shanta Kumar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his courageous diplomatic efforts to mediate in the ongoing conflict between two major nations, which has persisted for two years. The war has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands and forced countless others to flee as refugees to neighboring countries.
In a press release Kumar highlighted that Prime Minister Modi's recent visits to both Ukraine and Russia, the two countries embroiled in the conflict, demonstrate India's commitment to global peace. "Shri Modi ji has made significant efforts to end this war, and this is a moment of great pride and joy for the 140 crore people of India," said Kumar, extending his heartfelt congratulations to the Prime Minister.
Reflecting on India's ancient wisdom, Kumar reminded that thousands of years ago, Indian sages stood on the peaks of the Himalayas and proclaimed "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," meaning "the world is one family."
