In an endeavor to promote cardiovascular health, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, in association with the District Administration Ludhiana, organized the second edition of its Cyclothon to commemorate World Heart Day.

Ludhiana, September 29,  2024: In an endeavor to promote cardiovascular health, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, in association with the District Administration Ludhiana, organized the second edition of its Cyclothon to commemorate World Heart Day. 

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 1000 cycling enthusiasts, all rallying to raise awareness about heart health through the simple yet effective exercise of cycling. The Cyclothon Flag off done by Chief Guest, Jitendra Jorwal (Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana) and he was welcomed by Dr. Vishavdeep Goyal, Zonal Head of Fortis Hospital Amritsar and Ludhiana, along with Gurdarshan Mangat, Unit Head of Fortis Hospital Mall Road Ludhiana, Dr. Paramdeep Singh Sandhu Director, Cardiology, Dr. Sandeep Chopra Director, Cardiology, Dr. Manender Singla, Additional Director, Cardiac Anesthesia, Dr Nikhil Bansal Consultant Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Dr. Manav Wadhera, Associate Consultant, Cardiology.

The event commenced at 5:00 am, with participants setting off on their cycling journey aimed at encouraging regular physical activity to enhance heart health. The cyclists were provided with a heart-healthy nutritious breakfast, along with certificates and medals to recognize their participation and commitment.

Jitendra Jorwal (Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana) said, ““I’m delighted to be part of Fortis Cyclothon 2.0 on World Heart Day. Cycling is an excellent way to maintain a healthy heart. It’s more than just fitness—it’s about building strong hearts and clear minds. This initiative was a fantastic way to inspire all age groups to integrate exercise into their daily routines.
