FOSSHACK 2025: An Open Source Hackathon organized by UIET, Panjab University

In order to promote the Free and Open Source Software ecosystem, the Programming Club of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), in collaboration with FOSS United, today organised FOSSHACK 2025 with over 150 participants offline as well as online. 

FOSSHACK 2025: An Open Source Hackathon organized by UIET, Panjab University

Chandigarh, February 24, 2025: In order to promote the Free and Open Source Software ecosystem, the Programming Club of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), in collaboration with FOSS United, today organised FOSSHACK 2025 with over 150 participants offline as well as online. 

The Hackathon was inaugurated by Prof Sanjeev Puri, Director, UIET, PU by motivating the participants for a 36-hour long coding extravaganza that brought together some of the brightest tech enthusiasts from across the region. The event was supported by PU Incubation Centre and Design Innovation Centre, further reinforcing its commitment to fostering technological advancements. Participants from various colleges, both within and outside the Tricity, joined the hackathon, making it a truly diverse and enriching experience.

Participants tackled real-world challenges, developing innovative solutions while engaging with industry professionals and fellow developers. The seamless execution of the event, combined with top-tier mentorship and resources, left attendees highly satisfied. The organising committee’s dedication and meticulous planning under the guidance of the lead organiser Aru Sharma, played a crucial role in making this hackathon a grand success.
