The sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence (CI) Wing of Punjab police have arrested four drug smugglers in two separate operations and have recovered 77 kg heroin along with three pistols in two separate operations carried out during the last 24 hours.

Ferozepur, August 6, 2023: The sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence (CI) Wing of Punjab police have arrested four drug smugglers in two separate operations and have recovered 77 kg heroin along with three pistols in two separate operations carried out during the last 24 hours.

Lakhbir Singh AIG Counter Intelligence said that following the inputs, the sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence Wing had laid a naka near Qile Wala chowk yesterday evening during which two accused identified as Gagga Gill alias Gagan alias Kali (23), resident of Bare ke village in Sadar area and Veer Singh alias Veeru (37) resident of Muhar Sona village in Fazilka district were nabbed while they were coming on a bike (Bajaj Platina, without number).

The AIG said that during the checking of a sack which they were carrying, the police recovered 39 packets of heroin weighing 41.8 kg, 2 pistols (9 mm) with four magazines, 100 rounds (9mm) and one pistol (Zigana brand Turkish Semi Automatic) with two magazines, 15 rounds (.30 bore).

The accused were booked under sections 21-C, 29,61,85 NDPS Act and 25,54,59 of Arms Act (FIR No. 26 Dated 05.08.23) at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Fazilka, he added.

In other case, the CI wing nabbed two persons near Palla Megha village situated near the Indo-Pakistan international border today morning. The accused were identified as Jasbinder Singh alias Bhinda and Jagdip Singh alias Bhuchhar, both residents of Deep Singh Wala village in Sadiq who were also carrying another sag in which 36 packets of heroin (weighing 36 kg) were recovered. “These accused have also been booked under sections 21-C, 29, 61, 85 of NDPS Act at SSOC Fazilka”, said AIG.
