Four-Day Drama Festival at Guru Nanak Dev University from March 31 to April 3
Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), in collaboration with its Drama Club and Awaaz Rangmanch Toli, is organizing 'Rangmanch Utsav: 2025,' a four-day drama festival from March 31 to April 3, at the Dasmesh Auditorium.

Amritsar, March 31, 2025: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), in collaboration with its Drama Club and Awaaz Rangmanch Toli, is organizing 'Rangmanch Utsav: 2025,' a four-day drama festival from March 31 to April 3, at the Dasmesh Auditorium.
This event aims to ignite a passion for theatre among students and promote the rich heritage of Punjabi theatre. Under the guidance of GNDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Karmjeet Singh, the university has been hosting annual drama events to enhance artistic activities on campus and foster the holistic development of students.Dr. Sunil Kumar, Professor In-Charge,Drama Club & Head, Department of Hindi and Harpreet Singh, Convener of the Drama Club and a research scholar from the Punjabi Department, shared that this annual theatre festival is being held for the fourth consecutive year with the support of Awaaz Rangmanch Toli. They confirmed that all arrangements for the four-day event have been finalized. On the first day, March 31, the play Paydaan, written by Jatinder Brar and directed by Kanwal Randhey, will be performed by the Drama Club of GNDU and Awaaz Rangmanch Toli. On April 1, the second day, Adakar Manch from Mohali will present Dhann Likhari Nanaka. On April 2, the third day, Rangkarmi Manch from Amritsar will stage Loha Kutt. The festival will conclude on April 3 with Rahan Vich Angiar Bade Si, performed by Aks Rangmanch from Samrala.Harpreet Singh emphasized the significance of theatre, noting that the festival is not just about entertainment but also about fostering interest in theatre among students, boosting personal growth, self-confidence, and creativity. He added that theatre has long been a powerful medium for raising awareness about sensitive issues with artistic finesse. In today’s technology-driven era, preserving and sustaining this art form is a significant responsibility for the current generation.The festival is being sponsored by various organizations, including Naz Real Estate, Hargun Hospital, Maa Sharda Senior Secondary School Chawinda Devi, Bento Cakery, Varth Medicoz, Elevation Overseas, Expert Education Visa, and Amritsar Fertilizer Agency, among others. All performances will commence at 6 PM. The fourth annual Rangmanch Utsav will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karmjeet Singh Sandhu and theatre enthusiast Buddh Raj Singh, ADC-D Jalandhar. The university administration and organizing team have extended an open invitation to theatre lovers to participate in the festival.
