Chandigarh August 27, 2024: The Department of Economics, Panjab University, inaugurated a four-day 'Student Awareness and Sensitisation Programme' on August 27, 2024. The programme features sessions by distinguished speakers, including Prof. Jayanti Dutta (Director, Malaviya Mission Teaching Training Centre), Prof. Anju Suri (Department of History, PU), Dr. Neeraj Kumar (Deputy Librarian, PU), Prof. Meena Sharma (Central Placement Cell, PU), and Rasneet Kanvar (Director, BelWo Services India Pvt Ltd.).
 
Prof. Amit Chauhan, Dean of Student Welfare, Panjab University, inaugurated the event, highlighting the cultural diversity of the university and the importance of leadership and discipline. He also addressed contemporary issues like cell phone overuse, drug addiction, and depression, proposing strategies for mitigation.

Prof. Jayanti Dutta delivered a lecture on 'Learning to Think,' emphasising the transformative power of critical thinking,the obstacles to effective thinking and proposed methods to overcome these challenges.

Concluding the session, Dr. Smita Sharma expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests for their insightful contributions and encouraged students to actively engage in numerous activities offered by the University.
