Ludhiana, October 7, 2024: Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing and Medical Surgical Nursing Departments of DMC&H College of Nursing, Malakpur organized a Free Health Camp on October 5. 

During the camp  free medical services, including consultations, health check-ups (Medical, Obstetrics, Gynecological, Eye and skin) and free diagnostic tests including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar levels, HB estimation, and BMI calculation were provided. Attendees also received free prescribed medications.

The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society along with Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society, Dr. Triza Jiwan, Principal, DMC&H College of Nursing. Dr. Sandeep Kaur was the camp coordinator, Prof. Nidhi Sagar (HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing) and Prof. Bindu K. (HOD, Medical Surgical Nursing) and all the faculty members from DMC&H College of Nursing present on the occasion.

In his message, Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, acknowledged the efforts of DMC&H College of Nursing to conduct this camp and he encouraged the community to take advantage of such free and affordable healthcare initiatives. Further Bipin Gupta highlighted that under the initiative of  outreach programme ‘Swasth Nari Abhiyan’ free normal delivery services are being  provided free of cost to the needy people.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Triza Jiwan, Principal and DMC&H College of Nursing thanked all the dignitaries who graced the occasion and urged the public to follow healthy lifestyle for their overall well being.

All camp attendees expressed gratitude for the dedicated services provided by the doctors and volunteers. Students from BSc Nursing (4th year and 4th semester) played a vital role by creating awareness through exhibitions on important health topics like antenatal and postnatal care, normal vaginal delivery benefits, skin and eye care, and the management of hypertension and diabetes.
 
More than 300 people from 23 villages got benefited from the camp.
