From development, employment to law and order, BJP government has failed on every front: Former CM Hooda

Rohtak, January 6, 2025: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP government has failed on every front, from law and order to development. This government has also proved to be a failure in providing employment and lakhs of government posts are lying vacant in the state.

“BJP has not done any work except increasing the debt burden on the state. In the 10-year tenure, BJP did not add even a single unit to electricity production in Haryana, neither did it advance the metro or railway line by even an inch, or established any big project, institution or industry. Despite this, the government is taking loan after loan and is moving ahead on the policy of Charvak, take loan and drink ghee,” he said.

Talking to media persons in Rohtak, Hooda said that the government is adopting a completely undemocratic attitude towards the movement, in response to a question on the farmers' movement. “Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's health remains very critical. Therefore, the government should immediately resolve his demands and end the fast. His life is precious for everyone, because he is fasting not for personal interest, but for the legitimate demands of the farmers,” he stated.

Hooda said the demands of the farmers are completely legitimate and many years old. “The BJP itself had ended the farmers' movement by promising MSP. The farmers are reminding the government of the same promise,” he said.

“The Supreme Court has also said the government should talk to the farmers and find a solution to the movement, but instead of doing so, the Haryana government is constantly lying about MSP. It is being claimed by it that MSP is being given on 24 crops in Haryana, whereas neither 24 crops are grown in Haryana, nor is it the job of the state government to give MSP. This is the responsibility of the central government. That is why the farmers want to go to Delhi and talk to the central government, but they have been stopped at the Punjab-Haryana border in an undemocratic manner,” he added.

He has said the case of the student's suicide in Loharu should be investigated under the supervision of the CBI or a sitting judge so that the truth can come out. On the issue of SYL, Hooda said the Haryana government should file a contempt case in the court because the Supreme Court has given a verdict in favour of Haryana.

“It is the job of the central and state government to implement it. Today there is a BJP government both in the state and the center, but till date the state government has not sought time to meet the Prime Minister, as per the decision taken in the all party meeting nor has filed a contempt case of the Supreme Court's order,” he stated.

On the Delhi elections, Hooda said the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party, sitting in power in Delhi, are both the same, and have no achievements worth mentioning. “That is why this time people are looking towards the Congress,” he added.
