Prachi Bansal, who plays Sita in Shrimad Ramayan, derives nostalgia through heirloom clothing, “Wearing my mom’s beautiful lehenga is like stepping into a part of my family history. It has a sense of nostalgia, which makes it feel special every time I wear it. I love pairing it with subtle makeup and long earrings, just enough to add a bit of sparkle without taking away from the outfit’s classic beauty. Sometimes I mix in something modern, like a crop top with a saree, to keep it interesting yet grounded in tradition. It’s my way of honouring the past while staying true to myself.”
Amandeep Sidhu, who essays the role of Baani in Badall Pe Paon Hai, talks about her growing love for traditional attire, “I’ve started loving traditional outfits so much, not only on set but in my everyday life. Playing Baani, who often wears Punjabi attire, has made me feel even closer to my roots. When I pair a chikankari kurta with denim, it feels casual yet connected to my cultural identity. My style leans toward minimalism, so I keep accessories light—just a few standout pieces like long earrings or a simple bindi. The nose ring I wear as Baani’s character was especially meaningful to me because it felt like fulfilling a small dream, I had for myself.”
Chinmayee Salvi, known as Sakhi in Wagle Ki Duniya, appreciates the cultural significance of clothes, “Wearing a saree or a nauvari (9-yards saree) connects me to something much larger than myself—it’s like wearing a piece of history,” she reflects. “But I enjoy adding my personal twist. Sometimes it’s a modern hairstyle or pairing a classic saree with a contemporary blouse to create a timeless and fresh look. Fashion to me is about blending elements that honor tradition but also highlight who I am today.”
Aastha Gupta, who plays Mannat Arora in Badall Pe Paon Hai, desires vibrant hues and intricate detailing, “There is something deeply joyful about rich reds and golds—they bring warmth and a sense of celebration. When I style my outfits, I go for accessories that have intricate detailing, like embroidered bags or bold earrings, to add a unique touch. Makeup is also key for me: I love enhancing my eyes with kajal and adding a soft blush, making sure each element of my look feels radiant and complete. It’s all about creating a look that feels both elegant and full of life.”
