Future Generali India Insurance gives employees a mental health day off for self-care

Hyderabad, October 05, 2021: Exemplifying its commitment to encouraging mental wellness and putting its employees at the center of many of its initiatives, Future Generali India Insurance has announced a day off for its employees on October 11, in light of Mental Health Day. The aim is to give employees some time off to relax, rejuvenate and spend time with their families. In addition, several activities and sessions have also been planned for employees and family members during the week leading up to World Mental Health Day, such as art workshops for children; and sessions on mental health for overcoming fatigue for employees and their family members.

Anup Rau, MD, and CEO, Future Generali India Insurance, said, “At FGII, we strongly believe that mental health is as important as physical health and have taken several initiatives to start conversations and spread awareness on mental health. Similarly, we also believe that an organisation is only as strong as its people and constantly endeavor to provide our employees with a positive and conducive work environment. Just like they say that change always starts from your own backyard, we want to walk the talk and implement initiatives that allow our employees to focus on their mental well-being.”

Since the onset of the pandemic, FGII has undertaken multiple initiatives towards employee wellness and engagement, such as yoga classes and a one-on-one helpline for employees and their families to counsel and help them cope with anxiety, stress, or other mental health challenges brought about by the pandemic.

In our society, mental health and wellness are not really paid much attention to. Moreover, the pandemic has put a spotlight on mental well-being and brought to fore the importance of taking care of oneself both physically and mentally. FGII has positioned itself as an employer and an organization that genuinely wants to promote conversations on mental health both internally and externally.
