But the basic concerns of journalism will remain the same. Journalists should work to bring light to the society, not to set fire. Students will have to prepare themselves for a journalism career by assessing the future situation. This Guru mantra was given by eminent journalist and writer Nidhish Tyagi today in a workshop organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (MDU). This two-day workshop on the Future of Journalism started today.

This two-day workshop on the Future of Journalism started today.
Nidhish Tyagi said that it will always be important for journalism to be inclusive, understand socio-economic-cultural political diversity, be truth-fact based, extract real news from the cognizance of information, bring out the reality beneath the surface, and speak without prejudice and prejudice. He clearly said that journalism should not be a medium to spread hatred. Nidhish Tyagi said that to prepare themselves for the future, media students need to understand reader and audience mentality, changing trends and social psychology. Students will also have to become technologically advanced for their future career journey, advised Nidhish Tyagi. Tyagi also answered the questions of research scholars, students and alumni. He drew a beautiful blueprint of the future of journalism and future journalism in his lecture.
Presiding over the program, Head of the Department, Prof. Harish Kumar said that the history of journalism in India has been glorious. Journalism remained associated with the freedom movement as a mission. In future, journalism will have to do the work of raising voice for democratic and constitutional values.
Assistant Professor Sunit Mukherjee coordinated the program. He said that journalism will have to engage with the basic questions and serious issues of the nation and society. The survival of democracy will also center on the effective role of journalism. Sunit Mukherjee asked media students to develop critical thinking skills.
On Tuesday, the second day of this workshop, there will be discussion on creativity, writing skills, journalistic thinking and concerns, journalistic content creation. Research scholars of the department Jagroop Singh, Ajay Kumar, Kuldeep, Priya, Mahima, Ashu, Saima, Sahil, MDU alumni Sunit Dhawan, KS Mobin, Pawan Malhotra and other students were present on this occasion.
