Dharamsala, April 6, 2023: A gathering of G-20 delegates is set to take place in Dharamshala on April 19-20, where the latest research and innovations will be discussed under the theme of Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering. The event will see 70 delegates from different countries, including top scientists, policy makers, and experts, come together to share their knowledge and expertise.

District Collector Dr. Nipun Jindal said that the delegates will not only discuss technology and science but also participate in yoga exercises. On April 20, at 6.30 am, the trainers of the AYUSH department will conduct a quarter to an hour session of yoga exercises for the delegates.

Dr. Jindal also shared that the delegates will arrive in Dharamshala on April 18 and will be accorded a traditional welcome at Kangra Airport. They will be served Himachali snacks and beverages like Apple Tea and Kangra Tea, and presented with Himachali caps, shawls, and Kangra paintings. The branding and decoration of buildings will also be done on both sides of the National Highway and state roads to showcase the cultural uniqueness, diversity, and beauty of Kangra and Himachal.
 
Technical sessions will be held during the day on April 19, while a Gala Dinner will be organized at HPCA premises for the guests in the night. During this, various cultural dance and music programs will also be organized to showcase the rich culture of the state. After attending the morning yoga session on April 20, the delegates will be taken on a tour of Dharamshala and nearby places, including the experience of picking tea leaves in the garden.
The art museum offer them  a unique opportunity to explore the rich culture and craft of Himachal Pradesh, while also witnessing the live creation of Kangra paintings. In addition, a fascinating exhibition showcasing the intersection of science and technology with handloom and handicraft will be held at the conference venue.

To ensure the success of these events, the Deputy Commissioner has called upon all departments to work together towards this common goal. On 6th April, 2023 the District Collector held a video conference with officials from the G-20 Secretariat to discuss preparations for the upcoming events. During this meeting, the Deputy Commissioner provided an update on the arrangements being made by the district administration.

The meeting was attended by a number of key officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Jassal, Municipal Commissioner Anurag Chandra, Additional District Magistrate Rohit Rathore, ASP Hitesh Lakhanpal, SDM Dharamshala Shilpi Bekta, SDM Kangra Naveen Tanwar, and representatives from all departments. Together, they are working tirelessly to ensure that these events are a resounding success.
