General Observer takes stock of vulnerable pocket and polling booths in Jagraon
In order to ensure free, fair and transparent polls in the district, the General Observer Divya Mittal, IAS took stock of the vulnerable pocket and vulnerable polling booths falling under the Jagraon Assembly segment of Ludhiana parliamentary constituency.
Ludhiana, May 15, 2024: In order to ensure free, fair and transparent polls in the district, the General Observer Divya Mittal, IAS took stock of the vulnerable pocket and vulnerable polling booths falling under the Jagraon Assembly segment of Ludhiana parliamentary constituency.
While visiting a vulnerable pocket area Mohalla Gandhi Nagar in Jagraon and interacting with the residents, General Observer Divya Mittal exhorted the people to step forward and cast their vote independently without any fear and inducement on June 1. During interaction, the residents stated that they are not being pressurised by anyone and they will exercise their Right to Vote on June 1 without any fear.
Mittal said that the primary motive of all these steps was to ensure that people could participate in this democratic process without any sort of fear or pressure. She said that every effort would be made to ensure that each and every polling booth of the Lok Sabha constituency was provided adequate checks and balances for ensuring free and fair polling. Reiterating her firm commitment for ensuring Lok Sabha polls peacefully, she said that anyone trying to disturb peace during the general elections would be dealt strictly as per the law. She said that no one would be allowed to take law into their own hands during the elections.
Earlier, she also checked the strong rooms in Jagraon and issued necessary directions to ensure security, transportation etc.
SSP Navneet Singh Bains, Jagraon ARO Gurbir Singh Kohli, DSP Jasjyot Singh, Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal and others were also present.
