General Observer visits strong rooms of various assembly segments
General Observer for Ludhiana parliamentary constituency Divya Mittal, IAS on Wednesday carried out inspections at pre-poll and post-poll strong rooms belonging to various assembly segments falling under the parliamentary constituency.
Ludhiana , May 15, 2024: General Observer for Ludhiana parliamentary constituency Divya Mittal, IAS on Wednesday carried out inspections at pre-poll and post-poll strong rooms belonging to various assembly segments falling under the parliamentary constituency.
Accompanied by Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) ACA GLADA Ojasvi Alankar, ADC Dr Rupinder Pal Singh, MC Joint Commissioners Chetan Bunger, Inder Pal, RTO Randeep Singh Heer, SDM Deepak Bhatia, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Kritika Goyal, the General Observer Divya Mittal checked the arrangements of security, CCTVs, training rooms, food and drinking water, transportation, display screens for political parties (to show live footage of EVMs/VVPATs through CCTVs) and others. The inspection was aimed to ensure robust security arrangements in these strong rooms.
The General Observer inspected different pre-poll and post-poll strong rooms of Ludhiana Central, Ludhiana West, Ludhiana South, Ludhiana East, Gill and Dakha constituency.
The General Observer asked AROs to ensure polling parties do not face any kind of problem while taking EVMs/VVPATs a day before the polling day (May 31) and submitting the same after completion of the polling (June 1). She also instructed the concerned authorities to accomplish all preparations and arrangements well in advance so that all operations should be completed seamlessly.
The observer was comprehensively briefed by the AROs present regarding the security measures and other arrangements in place, and it was informed that the district administration had diligently implemented all necessary measures in compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
General Observer Divya Mittal directed the AROs and other election staff to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.
