GGNIMT holds a session on government schemes for entrepreneurship

Ludhiana: It is important to set a reasonable and measurable career goal and work for identifying the supportive  opportunities, said Dr SB Singh, a renowned industrialist and philanthropist of Ludhiana while interacting with the students of GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana. Entrepreneurship may be initially difficult, but rewarding in the long run, he asserted further. He gave an insight into the various government schemes to support entrepreneurial activities in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He explained the financial schemes, subsidies, rural area focus schemes, banking and service sector support systems. The various schemes included Prime Minister Entrepreneurship Guarantee scheme, start-up policy, Invest Punjab benefits, GST and power sector subsidy for manufacturing and service sectors.

 

The students must focus on career options in entrepreneurship these days and the ecosystem is very supportive these days, said Dr Harpreet Singh, principal, GGNIMT.

 

Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, director, GGNIMT said in his address that the job seekers will grow slower than entrepreneurs. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Dr Harminder Kaur, head department of business management, Dr Ripudaman Kaur, coordinator of entrepreneurship cell of the college were also present on the occasion.
